An acknowledgment index is a method for indexing and analyzing the scientific literature and, thus, quantifies the impact of acknowledgments. Typically, a scholarly article has a section where the authors acknowledge entities such as funding, technical staff, colleagues, etc. that have contributed materials or knowledge or have influenced or inspired their work. Like a citation index it measures influences on scientific work, but in a different sense; it measures institutional and economic influences as well as informal influences of individual people, ideas, and artifacts. Unlike impact factor, it does not produce a single overall metric, but analyses the components separately. The first automated acknowledgement indexing was created in the search engine and digital library, CiteSeer. However, that feature is no longer supported. From Wikipedia under the

Answered by Valerie - Wed May 2 10:25:43 2007 I am writing a novel and i need some help with ideas, like character names, or just other helpful things? Q. okay first of all, if you don't want me to repeat my rambling from another question i asked, follow this link to get a gist of some of my story-- okay i hope it isn't faulty. well, if you read the part of what i have in my story, around the middle, that explains the start of it. here is a quick summary in case you don't read that-- a young black rat, kemuri, (or so he names himself, after his foster parents are lost from a fire. One of them is fluent in other languages, and kemuri is japanese for smoke, although i know that part is a bit twisted and unrealistic) has no parents and even loses his foster parents. After an encounter with a friendly wolf who values his bravery, he likes where he is. But then another one tries to attack… [cont.] Asked by lynxlover623 - Fri Mar 20 21:43:21 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. i think this is an excellent idea for a story. even though i just read a preview of it, it looks like you've got alot of meanings going in your book. i definately think you should publish it when your finished. there are alot of web that you can go to to find names. maybe google babby names, or foreign babby names (?) idk. how did you get those japanese names? because those are really cool too. whatever u do just keep going with what your doin! and don't forget what you want to tell in your story. wether its like hucklberry fin where the point is that there isn't any, or its like... idk... someguy trying to make a point Answered by CC - Fri Mar 20 22:04:25 2009 Are you here Jayne?
Q. "Jayne says read more books", I want to thank you so much for the answer you provided to the question in the link below. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. With people like you the world will become a better place at a much quicker pace. Many people are not looking for a sorry or monetary compensation for past things but acknowledgement. Simple statements like the ones you made in your answer can make a persons/ peoples day in many more ways than you would believe. I love you. Thank you. Somebody else would look me in the eye and call me a racist instead. And it's normally the person who complains about very fresh and comparatively trivial incidents affecting his/ her life that is hte first to call another a racist. Amazing how two people can look at the same words and come to completely different conclusions. Wow.
