confessionDefinition from Wiktionary, the free dictionary Jump to: navigation, searchFrom Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. The confession of a person's sins is a religious practice in a number of Christian traditions, e.g., Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. ChristianityIn some Christian traditions, confession is similar to a criminal confession—an admission of guilt. The practice is conducted between a confessor and a priest, sometimes within a confessional box or booth. Confession of a person's sins, or at least of sinfulness, is seen by some churches as a pre-requisite for becoming a Christian. The advice given by the minister to the penitent, however, is not the same as pastoral counseling, as confession has as its specific purpose the forgiveness of sins. From Wikipedia under the

Q. I usually offer a tiny cup to people during mass, but I thought that maybe I'd get a better turn out for confession if I started sharing the wine I've been drinking to help me stay awake through the whining. Q. Also, a tape recording of a confession. Will a lawyer be able to get this thrown out of court? There is no evidence besides that. Asked by Jake - Fri Aug 20 18:31:52 2010 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. If you can prove that the confession was made under duress it's possible. Duress would be if you were threatened to confess, or coerced to confess. If you can prove that the confession was false then it may not be thrown out but would have essentially no weight on the decision of the court. If the confession was obtained illegally, i.e. seized over illegal wire-taping, or non-consential and without warrant then the exclusionary rule would force the to court to throw it out. If it was voluntarily given then it's extremely unlikely, that would take some fancy legal maneuvering.
